A 2020 Los Angeles Dodgers World Series ring was not only presented to players and coaches from last year’s team, front office and ownership members, but Hall of Fame broadcaster Vin Scully as well. The Dodgers shared photos of Scully with his ring on Monday morning.

Scully, who just celebrated the anniversary of the start of his broadcasting career, was in the booth for six of the Dodgers’ seven championships in franchise history. Although he was part of last year’s title win, Scully kept a watchful eye on the team and narrated the 2020 World Series documentary DVD.

The ring Scully was gifted assuredly is more opulent than those from the past. Jostens hand-crafted the 14-karat World Series ring, which features white and yellow gold with diamonds and sapphires throughout.

The ring has approximately 222 round diamonds, 10 princess-cut diamonds, 45 custom-cut genuine sapphires and eight round genuine sapphires. The Dodgers’ and Jostens’ attention to detail extended beyond the actual piece of fine jewelry as the ring box has a video screen that played highlights from last season.

“For 32 years Los Angeles waited for this moment, this team and this ring – and all that it represents,” Dodgers president and CEO Stan Kasten said in a statement.

“Jostens did a spectacular job designing these rings which represent the sacrifice, determination and fortitude demonstrated by our players, coaches and entire organization to win a championship while overcoming unprecedented challenges.

“We are so proud of this team and thrilled to have presented them with their rings today in front of the best fans in baseball.”

Kasten also explained the Dodgers set — and accomplished — a goal of ensuring the 2020 World Series ring told a story and encapsulated a season that was historic on many fronts.

Turner likes every aspect of Dodgers World Series ring

Dodgers players basked in the World Series ring ceremony ahead of their home opener and after the win over the Washington Nationals were in awe of all it had to offer.

“They did a great job. It’s just very simple, clean cut and it just looks really nice. I like it all,” Justin Turner said of the ring. “The detail in it is pretty cool, with the series wins on the inside and signature on the bottom, and then the outside of the ring is simple and clean cut. I think they did a great job.”
