The Las Vegas Raiders picked up their eighth straight loss on Sunday as they were shut out by the Philadelphia Eagles 31-0. While Pete Carroll’s team has competed and been close in many of their losses, this was not one of them as they were thoroughly dominated from the beginning.

The Raiders gained just 75 total yards in the game while allowing 387 to an Eagles team that had lost three straight games coming into this contest. But facing the Raiders was apparently exactly what they needed to get back on track, and former New England Patriots tight end and FOX NFL analyst Rob Gronkowski had some harsh words for the Raiders.

At halftime of the contest, and with the Raiders trailing 17-0, Gronkowski compared playing the Raiders to putting ointment on a cut to make it better, via Mick Akers of the Las Vegas Review-Journal:

While the words are rough, Gronkowski isn’t wrong in his assessment. Unfortunately, teams have been able to get things back on track and address some of their issues when facing the Raiders, and that is something Carroll and his staff must also address.

But Carroll himself was proud of the effort the Raiders gave and the fight they showed despite the blowout loss, via Raiders YouTube:

“These guys fought their ass off. They fought their ass off. That was the result. They didn’t stop fighting. That was the result of our play right there. I have a lot of respect for the roster we just played against, and maybe they didn’t look like it in the last couple of weeks or whatever, but they played like they were capable, and we couldn’t stop.”

While the fight was nice, the execution wasn’t, and the Raiders are just not in the business of moral victories. They expected to be in the postseason hunt, but it has been the complete opposite, and now they have three games left to salvage anything from this lost season.

ESPN mock draft has Raiders selecting Oregon QB Dante Moore

The Raiders are very likely to have a top-5 pick and are currently tied for the worst record in the NFL, which would put them in a prime position to take a quarterback in the 2026 NFL Draft. And the latest mock draft from ESPN is linking them with Oregon QB Dante Moore.
