Rams Video: John Johnson III And Sarina Morales Host ‘Ramacademy Awards’

With awards season in full swing, the Los Angeles Rams have opted to host a show of their own to celebrate the best moments of the 2019 NFL season. Although the Rams may have fallen vastly short of expectations, there were still a number of memorable moments that were provided throughout the year.

The ‘Ramacademy Awards,’ which the team released on social media on the night of the actual Academy Awards, were hosted by Rams safety John Johnson III and Sarina Morales. They handed out various awards to players on the team for a bunch of different categories based on this past season.

Taking home the award for best actor in a supporting role was quarterback Jared Goff for his block that helped spring wide receiver Robert Woods open for a 48-yard gain against the Arizona Cardinals. While it is always fun to see quarterbacks seek out contact, it is safe to say that the Goff block package is not going to be installed any time soon.

Performances are supposed to transcend borders and the Rams were able to do just that with their win over the Cincinnati Bengals at Wembley Stadium in Week 8. As a result, they were awarded best international feature film for their successful trip across the pond.

Of course, no awards show would be complete without defensive tackle Aaron Donald taking home some hardware. The two-time NFL Defensive Player of the year enjoyed quite the homecoming when he returned to his old stomping grounds to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers and for that, he was named best actor in a leading role.

It may have been a down year for head coach Sean McVay’s offense, however, he still remains as one of the most innovative offensive minds in the NFL. He solidified that notion with a double-reverse flea-flicker against the Bengals that resulted in a touchdown to wide receiver Cooper Kupp. Not only did it help secure the 24-10 victory, but it also earned McVay the award for best director.

With the playoffs at stake, the Rams found themselves in a must-win situation against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 14. They managed to take advantage of the homestead with a dominant 28-12 win over the Seahawks to keep their postseason hopes alive. Despite coming up short of their end goal, the performance was still enough to earn them best picture.
