Rams To Offer Credit For Season Ticket Holders In Event Of Cancelled Games Due To Coronavirus

The coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to infect many and create a sense of panic across the world. While governments and hospitals are doing their best to combat it, there is no clear end in sight.

With that in mind, many sporting events have been cancelled due to health concerns and government regulations. Major League Baseball’s Opening Day came and went without an inning of baseball being played. March is nearly gone and no college basketball tournaments have been played, and won’t be until next season.

Although the NFL is one of the few major American sports leagues yet to suspend or postpone their season, things are changing every day. The NFL remains hopeful that the season will begin in August as planned. Of course, should things worsen or at least extend into the summer, then there could be a chance the 2020 NFL season is shortened or postponed.

In the case of any cancelled games or games played without fans, the Los Angeles Rams have released a statement for season ticket holders regarding their policies:

Some of you may have concerns and we want to be clear about our policies regarding season tickets purchased directly from the Rams. If a game is canceled and cannot be rescheduled, or is played under conditions that prohibit fans from attending (for example, if a public authority restricts gatherings to no more than a small number of people), and you are a Rams Season Ticket Member, you will receive a pro-rata refund of your season ticket purchase price for any impacted games, or the option to credit that amount toward future playoff or regular season full season tickets for the 2021 season.

While offering a credit for games is great, the Rams have also changed their payment plan options for season ticket holders financially affected by the coronavirus:

We understand that some of you may be impacted physically and financially by COVID-19. As a result, we are extending our season ticket payment deadline to June 1. In addition, if you choose to opt-in to the payment plan today, you can spread payments from May 1 through October 1, rather than having an April 1 payment. For Season Ticket Members already on a payment plan, you can skip your April 1 payment and spread your remaining balance from May 1 through October 1. To do so, please call or fill out the form here by Monday, March 30th at 11:59pm PT.

The Rams certainly appear prepared for any situation moving forward. They have had the luxury of watching other sports leagues navigate the pandemic and are taking all efforts to make the fans their top priority.

If there is football played in 2020 though, the Rams will be moving into their new state-of-the-art home, SoFi Stadium.
