Rams Stars Matthew Stafford & Myles Garrett Given 99 Overall Ratings In Madden NFL 27

The Los Angeles Rams are the Super Bowl favorites in 2026 after putting together a star-studded roster that will be led by Matthew Stafford offensively and Myles Garrett defensively.

In fact, the Madden NFL 27 video game recently released their annual 99 club, and both Stafford and Garrett made the cut, give the Rams the only team with two members:

Both of these ratings are well-deserved as Stafford and Garrett are both coming off the best seasons of their respective careers.

Stafford led the NFL with 4,707 passing yards and 46 touchdowns with only eight interceptions. The Rams had the best offense in the league in 2025 and Stafford’s play was a big reason for that. He was rewarded for his stellar play by winning the first NFL MVP award of his career.

Stafford wasn’t the only one to bring home some hardware in 2025 as Garrett took home NFL Defensive Player of the Year honors for the second time. He broke the league sack record with 23 while also recording 60 total tackles, three forced fumbles and a league-leading 33 tackles for loss.

While having two players in the Madden 99 club is exceptional, the Rams have a legitimate gripe here as they easily could have had three players make the cut after Puka Nacua’s 2025 season. He was just as good, if not better, than Seattle Seahawks star Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who was given a 99 rating. The same could be said for Ja’Marr Chase of the Cincinnati Bengals, who did not put up anywhere close to the numbers that Nacua did for the Rams.

It’s no secret that the Rams made one of the biggest moves of the offseason by acquiring Garrett, which Stafford compared to when he left the Detroit Lions.

“We haven’t had that conversation yet,” Stafford said. “But there’s no question about it. You’re right, there are some parallels.

“I know for me, and I’m assuming for Myles and we’ll have those conversations as we get back to training camp and do those things. But it was just invigorating. For so many years, I felt like I was this guy in Detroit, the leader of the organization, leader of it all. And still feel that way in L.A., but you get traded and you’re suddenly the new guy who’s got to learn everything and it’s like this new juice where you’re like, alright, now I just gotta make sure I’m up to par with everybody else.

“And obviously the physical traits, his stats, his ability is second-to-none. He’s an incredible football player so you’re not worried about those things. It’s just hey man, there’s some new energy to it where football isn’t the exact same as it’s been the last 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 years and I know that can be energizing for a player and a guy that is smart enough to understand what the stakes are and the opportunity that he’s just been given.”
