Rams News: Terrell Lewis ‘Back In Action’ After Missing Time Due To Positive Coronavirus Test

The 2020 NFL season will be an unusual one due to the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic that has already limited the Los Angeles Rams and other teams at the start of training camp.

This year’s season of HBO’s Hard Knocks premiered on Tuesday night, and this year it is featuring both the Rams and Los Angeles Chargers.

A big focus of the first episode was on how the Rams and Chargers are combating coronavirus at training camp, including holding meetings outside, wearing masks and getting tested every day.

The episode also revealed that Rams rookie outside linebacker Terrell Lewis tested positive for coronavirus and was forced to quarantine himself for 10 days. The Rams have previously placed Lewis on the reserve/COVID-19 list, although that did not necessarily mean that he had tested positive.

After the episode aired, Lewis had to have received a lot of texts and tweets wishing him well in his recovery, so he took to social media to reveal that he is now healthy and back with the team:

I’m back in action and I’m good now… chill💀😂

That is certainly good news for Lewis and the Rams as he has a ton to learn during training camp this year and already limited time to do so.

The Rams drafted Lewis in the third round out of Alabama. He dealt with a number of injuries in college or else likely would have been a first or second-round pick, so he brings a ton of upside to the table.

With the departures of Dante Fowler Jr. and Clay Matthews, the Rams are in dire need of edge rushers this season, and the hope is that Lewis will be able to contribute right away.

No preseason and fewer practices with pads will make it difficult for a rookie to get on the field Week 1, but Lewis has previously credited playing in the Alabama program for preparing him for the NFL, so he may be ahead of the curve early on.
