Rams News: Taylor Rapp Burns 10,000 Calories In All-Day Workout

Although the restrictions placed in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic have forced players to take unprecedented action ahead of the 2020 NFL season, this does not appear to be a problem for Los Angeles Rams safety Taylor Rapp.

Rapp is coming off of a promising rookie campaign that saw him establish an integral role for himself during the 2019 campaign. He is now set to help the team usher in a new era at SoFi Stadium amid some significant changes to their coaching staff.

Players are still anxiously awaiting for permission to proceed with offseason workouts in their normal practice facilities once June rolls around. It seems Rapp has already gotten a solid head start on his conditioning for the upcoming season.

Rapp recently took to Twitter to show that he successfully completed the #10kcaloriechallenge:

Yesterday I attempted a challenge where you try to burn 10,000 calories in one day.

125 miles biking (103 in one ride), 1.25 miles swimming, 4 miles hiking, 3 miles running, a short workout, and 7,300 feet of elevation later, #10kcaloriechallenge completed ✅ 4:30 AM-9:09 PM pic.twitter.com/m79izSZdaC

The grueling workout from Rapp consisted of a 125-mile biking trip, a 1.25-mile swim and a four-mile hike. The entirety of the workout took him just over 17 hours to complete.

The restrictions from quarantine have given players limited options when it comes to getting into playing shape. Fortunately, this doe not appear to be a problem for Rapp thanks to the current fitness trends circulating throughout social media.

It is certainly encouraging to see that Rapp has seemingly managed to kick things up a notch this offseason. After all, he will be tasked with taking on a heavier workload next season under new defensive coordinator Brandon Staley’s scheme.

Rapp proved to be quite the steal after arriving as a second-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft as he finished his rookie year with 100 tackles, two interceptions and eight pass deflections. As a result, he received quite the vote of confidence from the Rams when it was indicated that he would be the starter over the now-retired Eric Weddle.
