SoFi Stadium and Samsung have announced the new name for their 70,000 square foot videoboard as The Infinity Screen by Samsung.
The Infinity Screen is undoubtedly the crown jewel of the $5.5 billion project under the vision of Los Angeles Rams team owner Stan Kroenke. The videoboard boasts the largest LED content playback system ever developed and is the only 4K, end-to-end video production in a stadium.
It was all part of the efforts to provide an unprecedented fan experience leading up to the 2021 NFL season.
“We are excited to introduce the official name for our 70,000 square-foot, dual-sided video board, The Infinity Screen by Samsung. The Infinity Screen creates an absolutely stunning presence inside SoFi Stadium,” said Jason Gannon, managing director, SoFi Stadium and Hollywood Park. “It is powered by the largest graphics control system in the history of sports and is already synonymous with the next-level fan experience at SoFi Stadium.”
The screen was designed to give every seat in the house a clear view of what is transpiring on the field. Not only that, each panel can provide updated feeds of live content and statistics.
As with the stadium itself, it is evident that naming the various places of the venue was a process of its own. Fortunately, SoFi Stadium and Samsung were finally able to come to an agreement that worked for both sides.
The Rams and L.A. Chargers unceremoniously kicked things off at Hollywood Park last year with zero fans in the stands due to the restrictions of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Fortunately, this allowed stadium officials ample time to get all the notable features of this new venue taken care of.
After all, the Rams announced that they plan on hosting fans at full capacity for the entire 2021 NFL season. With training camp set to begin, the time has finally come for Kroenke’s vision to come to fruition.
