The Los Angeles Rams’ postseason chances are quickly dwindling away, especially after they blew a late fourth quarter lead against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 9.
The Rams offense is mostly to blame as they failed to earn a first down late in the game, setting up Tom Brady to march his team down the field. Brady found tight end Cade Otton for the easy touchdown, and Los Angeles could only blame themselves for falling to 3-5 during the 2022 season.
Matthew Stafford only managed to muster 165 passing yards and one touchdown, but the running game was even more abysmal. The Rams recorded a paltry 68 yards on the ground, with Darrell Henderson accounting for 56 of them. Henderson had the team’s longest scamper of the season — a 23-yard run — but the running back room as a whole was largely underwhelming.
Fortunately, a boost to the position group could be coming soon as head coach Sean McVay said there’s a good shot Kyren Williams is activated this week, via Sarah Barshop of ESPN:

Williams appeared on one special teams snap in Week 1 before suffering an ankle injury. It was another unfortunate setback for the rookie who also dealt with a broken foot in the offseason that forced him to miss part of training camp.
At this point, the Rams need to find anyone who can inject some life into their dismal run game and Williams could perhaps be the person for the job. Los Angeles was high enough on him during the 2022 NFL Draft to trade up for him, and he’ll soon have his opportunity to take over an anemic backfield.
