Through six weeks, the Los Angeles Rams have managed to stay afloat despite several injuries to key rotation players.
The Rams managed to put together a solid win against the Carolina Panthers in Week 6 but it was a costly day as they lost left tackle Joseph Noteboom for the remainder of the season after he tore his Achilles tendon. The offensive line has been hit the hardest with injuries, and now Noteboom’s absence will force the Rams to get creative in replacing him.
While injury luck hasn’t been on their side so far, head coach Sean McVay revealed he expects several players to return to action following their Week 7 bye, via Stu Jackson of TheRams.com:
While the Rams figure that out, they should be getting some reinforcements next week. McVay said he expects center Brian Allen, wide receiver Van Jefferson, defensive back Troy Hill, defensive back Cobie Durant and defensive lineman Bobby Brown III all to be back after the bye week.
Van Jefferson has yet to play during the 2022 season as he recovers from an offseason procedure to clean up a knee issue that had been bothering him. Los Angeles’ offense has been sorely missing his ability to stretch the field vertically, so getting him back should go a long way in helping the offense rediscover itself.
Brian Allen is another key piece to the interior of the offensive line, especially with Coleman Shelton still on the shelf with an ankle injury. Allen can help stabilize the trenches and hopefully provide Matthew Stafford with some more protection.
The secondary has been able to hold up relatively well, but Troy Hill and Cobie Durant coming back reinforces their depth at the position. Lastly, Bobby Brown III will finish serving his six-game suspension and offer some depth along a defensive line that’s been playing well in recent weeks.
