The Los Angeles Rams are looking to get back on track versus the Chicago Bears on Mondays Night Football in Week 7. However, wide receiver Robert Woods is also preparing to ramp up his efforts off the field ahead of Election Day.

It has been an unprecedented 2020 NFL season due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. On top of that, players have also maintained their focus on using their platforms to promote equality and denounce the racial injustices plaguing society today.

Woods was notably pleased with the league’s NFL Votes initiative and its plan to work with nonprofit and nonpartisan organizations like Rock the Vote, RISE to Vote and I am a voter to promote voter registration ahead of Nov. 3. He is now taking it upon himself to get in on the action.

Woods revealed his plans to partner with ride-sharing services to help people cast their ballots, per Stu Jackson of the team’s official website:

The restrictions placed in response to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic have led to a reduced capacity at many existing polling places. Meanwhile, not every person is going to have the means to go out of their way to cast a vote.

The NFL has stepped up to do its part by encouraging teams to have their stadiums serve as a venue for election support. Even the Rams’ newly-constructed SoFi Stadium is among those taking part with a voting center expected to open up outside on Oct. 30.

As a Los Angeles native, Woods clearly feels a responsibility to leave his mark both on and off the field. He spoke out on the tragic death of George Floyd and the extra efforts it would take to ensure that a true change was made. The best way for it to start is by getting as many registered voters to the polls as possible.
