The Seattle Seahawks held their championship parade on Wednesday after defeating the New England Patriots, 29-13, in Super Bowl LX.

The Seahawks defense dominated the game — just as they did all season — as they held Patriots quarterback Drake Maye to only 60 passing yards through three quarters. They also sacked him six times and forced three turnovers.

Seattle led by 19 points in the fourth quarter before New England finally put up points. But the game was never really in doubt for the Seahawks, who cruised to their second Super Bowl title in franchise history.

During an appearance on SiriusXM’s “Let’s Go” podcast, Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford said he expected the Seahawks to make light work of the Patriots in Super Bowl LX:

“It went about as I expected, to be honest with you. That’s kind of how I thought the game was going to go. New England’s defense kept them in it for as long as they could. And really, Seattle moved the ball well, just didn’t score down there inside the – once they crossed the 50, stalled out a couple of times. I think it could have been not as close as it was, really. I’ve watched, obviously, a ton of Seattle tape, so I knew what was coming a lot of the time. And I had watched some crossover tape with New England’s offense, so I had a little bit of a feel for that. I did not know a whole lot about what New England’s defense was doing the whole year, but they played well. It was fun to watch. That’s about how I thought it was going to go.”

If any player knows the Seahawks well, it’s Stafford, who faced them three times this season and kept the Rams competitive in each game.

L.A. went 1-2 against Seattle, but it wasn’t without big performances from Stafford, who nearly helped the team complete a comeback win in the NFC Championship Game.

The Rams didn’t have the outcome they wanted, but they’ll get at least two more cracks at the Seahawks in 2026, with Stafford expected to be under center for another season.

Rams bringing in Michael Hunter Jr. as defensive backs coach

The Rams have been busy filling key roles on Sean McVay’s coaching staff and reportedly hired former University of Tennessee defensive backs coach Michael Hunter Jr. to the same role.

Hunter joined Tennessee last month but decided to take a similar opportunity with the Rams. His coaching experience to date includes stints as an assistant defensive backs coach at Ohio State (2024-2025), defensive pass game coordinator and cornerbacks coach at Tulsa (2023), and defensive assistant at Oklahoma State (2021-2022).

The Rams didn’t have an official defensive backs coach last season, but Aubrey Pleasant held the role as recently as 2024 before taking on assistant head coach and passing game coordinator duties.

Pleasant has interviewed for multiple defensive coordinator jobs this offseason, so it makes sense why the Rams would want to bring in a defensive backs coach.

Even if Pleasant remains with the Rams, Hunter will be in charge of helping their secondary get back on track after an inconsistent 2025 season.
