Rams News: Brandin Cooks Believes Offense Can Be ‘Scary’ This Season

The Los Angeles Rams have burst onto the NFL scene in recent years after hiring Sean McVay as head coach, winning their division in each of the last two seasons and advancing to the Super Bowl in 2018-19 before losing to the New England Patriots.

The push to the top comes largely from one of the best offenses in NFL history. The Rams can attack both on the ground and in the air, and there is little that other teams can do to stop it.

Part of that aerial assault comes from the skills of wide receiver Brandin Cooks. Cooks is excited to start his second season with the Rams and think that they have the ability to expand upon their stellar offense, via Clarence Dennis of therams.com:

“This offense and being a part of this team with the receivers and quarterbacks that we have, I think we are going to do something so special. We have so much in front of us even though we have accomplished so much,” Cooks said in a recent interview with therams.com for season two of Behind the Grind. “To be able to say there’s a lot more out there is scary in a sense.”

Cooks has been scary in his own right throughout his five NFL seasons. He already has put up a total of 5,147 receiving yards, good for ninth-best in the league from 2014 through 2018. Cooks put up a career-best 1,204 receiving yards in 2018, and he didn’t even lead the Rams in receiving as Robert Woods was slightly higher at 1,219.

With the key players for the Rams all being relatively young, it will be exciting to see how much more they can improve. Cooper Kupp will be coming off a torn ACL, but if he is healthy then the Rams may have the best wide receiving trio in the league.
