Rams News: Aaron Donald, Todd Gurley Highlight Madden 20 Ratings

Although fans are anxiously awaiting the start of Training Camp, they were able to indulge in some of the ratings of Los Angeles Rams players in Madden 20.

Headlining things for the Rams was the reveal of Aaron Donald as the first player rated 99 overall. He finds himself in familiar territory as the only player to repeat from last year’s ratings.

While there is no question that Donald is more than deserving of the annual honor, the maxed-out rating still does not grasp how truly dominant the reigning two-time Defensive Player of the Year has become. Some of his more notable attributes are his 99 strength, 99 power moves, and 98 pursuit, which all rank as the best in the game.

There may be plenty of speculation regarding the health of running back Todd Gurley going into the 2019 NFL season, however, it clearly had no impact on his standing in Madden 20. Despite his injury, Gurley is still widely considered to be the best running back in the NFL and that title holds true in the video game as well after checking in at 97 overall.

He holds quite a notable gap over his other counterparts such as Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott and New York Jets running back Le’Veon Bell after they came in at 94 and 92 overall, respectively.

Aside from the obvious stars, there were several other notable players that managed to make waves as well. The only other name to join Donald and Gurley as the highest-rated player at their position was punter Johnny Hekker with an 86 rating.

Jared Goff found himself just shy of the top-10 ratings for quarterbacks with an 83 overall. Regardless, fans can take solace in the fact that he is ranked ahead of Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz and Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson.

Left tackle Andrew Whitworth continues to prove that age is just a number on multiple platforms. His decision to anchor the Rams’ offensive line for another year netted him a 93 rating, which makes him the fourth-best left tackle in the game.

Although some of these numbers can usually be taken with a grain of salt, they did what they could to find a balance with the receiving corps in Los Angeles. The trio of Brandin Cooks (87), Robert Woods (87), and Cooper Kupp (84) forms potentially the best crop of wideouts in the game.

Of course, all these ratings are subject to change so it will be interesting to see which players hurt or help their cause as the 2019 campaign plays out.
