The NFL announced that Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald and cornerback Jalen Ramsey were selected to the 2020 Pro Bowl.
Donald was selected as a starter alongside Fletcher Coz of the Philadelphia Eagles as interior defensive lineman. This is Donald’s sixth Pro Bowl season in as many years with the Rams. He has also been an All-Pro four times and is the reigning two-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year.
He is having a bit of a down year this season by his standards, but that is because he has been commanding double and triple teams on seemingly every play. Donald has 27 total tackles, 11 sacks, two forced fumbles and two pass breakups in 14 games on the season, and all of the attention he has demanded has enabled his teammates to easier make plays.
Ramsey will be headed to his third Pro Bowl in the last three seasons and first as a member of the Rams. He is a reserve on the NFC team behind Richard Sherman of the San Francisco 49ers and Marshon Lattimore of the New Orleans Saints.
In 11 games this season between the Jacksonville Jaguars and Rams, Ramsey has 46 total tackles, two forced fumbled and three passes defensed. He is similar to Donald in that his impact on the Rams’ defense doesn’t always show up on the stat sheet because teams rarely throw the ball his way.
L.A.’s defense has been much improved since he got to town though, and the league recognized him with a trip to the Pro Bowl.
This year’s Pro Bowl is scheduled to be played at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida on Jan. 26, 2020.
