Rams Injury News: Tyler Higbee Out; Aaron Donald And Austin Blythe Questionable For Game Against Browns

Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay announced on Friday that tight end Tyler Higbee is out for Sunday’s contest against the Cleveland Browns while Aaron Donald and Austin Blythe are both listed as questionable. McVay also announced that Donald is expected to play, however, which is a great sign for the Rams.

Although the Rams were able to maintain their perfect start to the 2019 NFL season with a convincing win over the New Orleans Saints in Week 2, it did come at a bit of a cost on the injury front.

Higbee suffered a chest contusion while Blythe was carted off with a sprained ankle that was originally believed to be much worse. Neither was able to practice at all this week, so it makes sense that Higbee is going to miss Sunday’s game.

Donald was forced to exit the game briefly during the win against the Saints, however, he was able to make his return a short time later.

While dealing with injuries to such notable key players is hardly ideal, the Rams can take solace in the fact that they only have a few players listed on the injury report. The Browns currently have a whopping 14 players on there that are looking to get back on the field as soon as possible, with a bunch expected to miss the game against the Rams.

With Higbee not being able to go, Gerald Everett will get the start at tight end. He already sees a solid amount of playing time, so that won’t be much different. Johnny Mundt will likely be on the active roster to back him up.

If Blythe is forced to miss the game, then Jamil Demby would get the start at right guard in his place. He came in to replace Blythe after he went down against the Saints and did a solid job.
