Rams Injury News: Brandin Cooks Expected To Return For Monday Night Matchup Against Ravens

3 Min Read

The Los Angeles Rams have been forced to deal with a number of key injuries in the last few weeks, but they overcome them on Sunday night to earn a big victory over the Chicago Bears to move to 6-4.

The Rams now welcome perhaps the hottest team in football in Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens to town on Monday night in what is another game Los Angeles needs to win if they want to keep pace in the NFC playoff race.

Luckily, it seems like they are getting a key piece to their offense back for that contest. Rams head coach Sean McVay gave a positive update on wide receiver Brandin Cooks, who has missed the last two games with a concussion. It is still early in the week, but McVay expects Cooks to be able to return in Week 12, via Stu Jackson of TheRams.com:

“He’s been in great spirits, he’s been in good shape, so the anticipation is that he will be able to play this week,” McVay said.

Without their best deep threat in Cooks, the Rams offense has really struggled the last two weeks. Cooks has been limited to just eight games this season, dealing with a pair of head injuries that forced him out early of two of those games as well.

His production hasn’t been the same as the last few years as he only has 27 catches for 402 yards and one touchdown, but his speed makes him a threat to beat teams deep at any time. That has helped fellow wide receivers, Cooper Kupp and Robert Woods, often able to get open with one-on-one matchups underneath.

Woods also missed the game against the Bears due to a personal issue. McVay is not sure when Woods will be able to return to the team, but hopefully, it will be sometime this week so he can suit up against the Ravens as well.
