Rams Highlights: Todd Gurley, Defense Carry Team To Victory Over Bears In Week 11

The Los Angeles Rams welcomed the Chicago Bears to town on Sunday Night Football in Week 11 as both teams essentially needed to win to keep pace in the NFC playoff race.

With two of the better defenses in the league squaring off, points were expected to be at a premium at the Coliseum and that ended up being the case as the Rams earned a 17-7 victory to move to 6-4 on the season.

The first quarter was a sloppy one for both teams as the Bears missed two field goals and the Rams turned the ball over twice with Todd Gurley fumbling on the team’s first offensive play and then Jared Goff throwing an interception on the ensuing drive.

Los Angeles got on the board first with a field goal early in the second quarter, and then they extended their lead to 10-0 with a four-play, 56-yard drive before halftime. The big play was a 51-yard bomb from Goff to Cooper Kupp. He went out of bounds at the 1-yard line, but Gurley punched it in on the next play.

Gurley carried the load offensively for the Rams most of the night as he had a season-high 25 carries for 97 yards, also adding three receptions for 36 yards.

Malcolm Brown added a touchdown late in the fourth quarter, which was more than enough for the Rams defense that had one of its best all-around performances.

The Rams defense only came up with one turnover on an interception by Troy Hill in the second quarter, but other than Chicago’s lone touchdown drive in the third quarter, they had just two first downs in the second half.

Some props are deserved for the Rams offensive line as well as they had three new starters, but Goff did not get sacked on the night and Gurley had some solid holes to run through en route to the victory.
