Rams Highlights: Jared Goff Puts Up Solid Performance, Defense Sacks Russell Wilson 5 Times In Win Over Seahawks

The Los Angeles Rams came up with perhaps their best performance of the season when they needed it most, defeating the Seattle Seahawks, 28-12, on Sunday Night Football in Week 14.

Jared Goff has been the subject of a lot of scrutiny for his play this season after signing a record-breaking contract extension, but he came out firing against the Seahawks.

Goff orchestrated three touchdown drives in the first half and another in the second half, finishing with 293 yards and two touchdowns on 22-of-31 passing. He did have two interceptions in the second half, but the Rams were leading comfortably by then.

A big reason that Goff was able to have such a solid night was that his pass-catchers were consistently able to get open. With Gerald Everett missing his second straight game, Tyler Higbee had another career day with seven receptions for 116 yards and a touchdown.

Robert Woods was all over the place as well, hauling in seven receptions for 98 yards and a touchdown in addition to two carries for 29 yards. The receiving touchdown was his first of the season, although he does have one rushing as well.

In what has become a theme in the second half of the season, Todd Gurley also had a solid night for the Rams. His 23-carry, 79-yard game might not look great on paper, but he also added a touchdown on the ground and four catches for 34 yards while consistently opening up the play-action for Goff.

The real MVP of the night though was the Rams defense as a whole, limiting Russell Wilson and the Seahawks offense to just two field goals in the game. The best way to beat Wilson is to put pressure on him, and Los Angeles did exactly that with five sacks and an interception by Troy Hill late in the game to seal it.
