Tyler Higbee, Rams

The Los Angeles Rams have designated tight end Tyler Higbee to return to practice from the reserve/PUP list. Higbee has not played this season after suffering a torn ACL and MCL in the Rams’ Wildcard playoff loss to the Detroit Lions last season.

This is the first step to be taken in order for Higbee to eventually return to the field, though head coach Sean McVay said earlier this week that he doesn’t expect Higbee to be activated in time for the Rams’ game on Sunday against the New Orleans Saints.

While his numbers have never jumped off the page, Higbee has long been a vital part of the Rams offense and someone quarterback Matthew Stafford very much trusts. Last season Higbee was third on the Rams in targets and receptions behind only Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp and finished the year with 47 catches for 495 yards and two touchdowns.

The previous year, he led the Rams in targets with 108 and finished with a career-high 72 catches for 620 yards and three touchdowns. Higbee also played a big role during the team’s Super Bowl run in 2021 totaling nine catches for 115 yards in the playoffs.

In his absence, Colby Parkinson has operated as the Rams’ top tight end and has done a serviceable job with 25 receptions for 243 yards and a touchdown. That being said, McVay, Stafford and the rest of the Rams will surely be happy to have Higbee back on the field, as will Higbee himself obviously.

Returning from an ACL and MCL tear is extremely difficult and Higbee has had to put in a lot of work to rehab and recover in time to get back on the field this season. The Rams are slowly getting back to full strength which should only bode well as they look to make a playoff push down the stretch of this season.

Rams WR DeMarcus Robinson won’t be suspended for Week 13 game vs. Saints

Another important weapon for the Rams this season has been receiver DeMarcus Robinson. Unfortunately, following the Rams’ loss to the Philadelphia Eagles Robinson was arrested for suspicion of a DUI.

Because of this, Robinson’s status for Sunday’s game against the Saints was unclear, but Sean McVay announced that Robinson won’t be suspended for the contest. The Rams coach noted that he feels Robinson understands the severity of the incident and is remorseful for his actions.

Robinson did apologize to the Rams organization as well as his teammates and said he hopes everyone can learn from his mistakes.
