There were a couple of bright spots for the Las Vegas Raiders this season despite their disappointing record. On the offensive side, it was Davante Adams proving to still be arguably the best wide receiver in the NFL. And on the defensive side, it was Maxx Crosby continuing to be one of the most disruptive forces in all of football.
Crosby is proving to be one of the best mid-round draft picks in recent NFL history as he finished this season with 12.5 sacks, a league-leading 22 tackles for loss, and 35 quarterback hits, ranking second in the NFL, though somehow none of this was enough to get him an All-Pro selection.
Now in the offseason, Crosby is staying in shape to make sure he will be ready to dominate again next season and one way he is doing that is by playing basketball. Despite being 6-foot-5 and 255 pounds, a recent viral video shows Crosby dominating a pickup basketball game in Las Vegas with some surprising athleticism.
It would be expected for a big defensive end to just use strength and brute force to dominate on the basketball court, but Crosby showed some legit skill and athleticism in the video. The coast-to-coast dunk is sure to turn the most heads, but Crosby pulling out a twisting pump jam basically from a standing vertical with one dribble is arguably even more impressive from an athletic standpoint.
The Raiders star also showed off some smooth shooting as well as court vision in the video with a no-look pass to one of his teammates. For someone who is viewed primarily as being all effort and heart, this video shows the athleticism, skill, and IQ Crosby has, even if it is in another sport.
Regardless, Maxx Crosby is a cornerstone of this Raiders franchise and it is fun seeing him dominate on the basketball court just as he does on the football field.
Raiders’ Maxx Crosby calls out Joey Bosa for complaining about officials
Maxx Crosby has still found himself in the news even though the Raiders failed to make the playoffs. The postseason has been marred with questionable calls from the officials and one of the bigger moments came during the Chargers’ wild card loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars with their star defensive end Joey Bosa going ballistic on the sidelines and calling out the officials afterward.
Crosby was not a fan of this, however. The Raiders star called out Bosa for blaming the officials, saying that players get held every play, believing that the Chargers end looked like a ‘crybaby’ for his outburst. Crosby added that he will never be that guy who acts like that.
