After an embarrassing loss to the New York Jets, the Oakland Raiders are suddenly facing a near must-win road game in Week 13 against their divisional rivals, the Kansas City Chiefs. At 6-5, the Raiders almost have to come up with a victory if they hope to still have a shot at making the postseason.
A win in Arrowhead Stadium is a tall task to ask of an Oakland team that has struggled to contain explosive passing attacks and unfortunately for them, that is Kansas City’s specialty. Reigning MVP Patrick Mahomes gives every opposing defensive coordinator a headache when they try to devise schemes to slow him down, and Paul Guenther will need to be creative with how he tries to defend the quarterback.
Having the team’s full allotment of starters would be a good place to start for the Raiders as they will need all the players on their roster to play up to their talent if they hope to pull off the upset. Fortunately for them, it looks like starting right tackle Trent Brown will be able to suit up despite being listed as questionable with a knee injury, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network:

Brown was able to practice on Wednesday and Thursday before sitting out Friday’s session, but it appears as though the injury is not serious enough to keep him out for the game. The veteran is the Raiders’ best tackle and his presence will be crucial in helping Derek Carr stay clean in the pocket and giving him time to attack a mediocre Chiefs secondary.
Oakland will also finally be seeing Lamarcus Joyner return as the defensive back has missed the last two contests with a hamstring injury. Jon Gruden having some of his starters back on the field should provide a boost on both sides, but they still have their work cut out for them when they take on the AFC West leader.
