Raiders Rumors: Antonio Brown Dealing With Frostbite In Feet Due To Not Wearing Proper Footwear In Cryotherapy Machine

Perhaps the biggest concern right now for the Oakland Raiders is the health of star wide receiver Antonio Brown, who reported to Training Camp with a foot issue.

Brown was placed on the non-football injury list to begin camp, although he was removed from it a day later and return to practice. The issue returned after a few days of practice though, and Brown was forced to see a foot specialist to address the injury.

The Raiders have not given any updates on Brown’s status, but it appears Chris Simms of Pro Football Talk was able to gather some intel. According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, Simms reported that Brown is dealing with frostbite in his feet due to not wearing the proper footwear in a cryotherapy machine:

On Monday, PFT Live co-host Chris Simms said that the photos posted by Brown don’t reveal blisters but the peeling of layers of skins from the bottom of his feet. Simms said that he once had a condition like that, thanks to what he called an “unidentified Buc fungus” in Tampa.

After Monday’s show, Simms got word from someone with knowledge of the situation that Brown burned his feet by entering a cryotherapy machine without the proper footwear, and his feet were frostbitten.

This is obviously not ideal for the Raiders and Brown as he tries to get acquainted and build chemistry with his new teammates, specifically quarterback Derek Carr.

With a month until the start of the regular season, the concern level within the organization still has to be low and Brown has plenty of time to get healthy for the opener.

In addition to Brown, the Raiders also brought in new receivers like Tyrell Willians, Hunter Renfrow, J.J. Nelson and Ryan Grant this offseason, so Carr will have a whole new set of weapons to throw to in 2019.
