As if the heartbreaking 30-29 Monday night loss to the Chiefs wasn’t bad enough for the Las Vegas Raiders, things got worse in the immediate aftermath. As he was leaving the field, a photographer stepped in front of Raiders receiver Davante Adams, who shoved him to the ground.
The unfortunate incident just added another stain on what was yet another loss for the Raiders that could have, and perhaps should have, gone the other way. There were multiple plays involving Adams down the stretch that could undoubtedly be added to his frustration, but there is no excuse for his actions.
And now that incident won’t be going away anytime soon as TMZ Sports reports that the photographer immediately went to the police and filed a report against Adams:
The photographer shoved to the ground by Davante Adams after the Raiders-Chiefs “MNF” game has officially filed a police report against the NFL superstar, claiming he was injured during the incident and had to go to the hospital.
TMZ Sports has learned … the man went to cops at Arrowhead Stadium at around 10:30 PM — just moments after Adams had pushed him following the Raiders’ 30-29 loss.
Authorities tell us the man claimed he was the victim of an assault. They say he told them he suffered injuries … though they were “thought to be non-life threatening.”
This is the second consecutive Monday Night Football contest in which a police report was filed against a player. However, this week’s was much more understandable as opposed to last week when a fan ran on the field during the contest and was tackled by Rams linebacker Bobby Wagner.
For his part, Adams immediately apologized for the incident at his locker after the game and once again on his Twitter page:
Sorry to the guy I pushed over after the game. Obviously very frustrated at the way the game ended and when he ran infront of me as I exited that was my reaction and I felt horrible immediately. Thats not me..MY APOLOGIES man hope you see this.

On the Raiders’ last drive, Adams seemingly put them in position for a game-winning field goal with a sideline catch, but after an official review, it was ruled incomplete. Then, on the ensuing fourth-down play, Adams and Hunter Renfrow collided on their route ending all hopes of a Raiders victory.
As angry and frustrated as Adams was, there was simply no excuse for his actions after the game. To this point, Adams has never had any off-field issues and has been an utterly upstanding individual, so by all accounts, this seems to be an unfortunate reaction amid great frustration.
