Raiders News: Las Vegas To Have Joint Practice With Rams Prior To Preseason Game

Originally published by RaidersNewswire.com

The Las Vegas Raiders suffered a number of close losses in which they blew leads. One of the most high-profile of those came at the hands of the Los Angeles Rams in which the Raiders led 16-3 in the fourth quarter before the Rams came back behind new quarterback Baker Mayfield to steal a 17-16 win.

That was one of nine losses by one score or less for the Raiders and coming into this season, the team plans on turning their fortunes around. That all starts in training camp and preseason and the Raiders will once again be seeing a familiar face.

According to Myles Simmons of Pro Football Talk, the Raiders will be participating in a joint practice with the Rams prior to the two teams squaring off in a preseason game:

Multiple reports out of Los Angeles indicate that the Rams and Raiders will practice together in advance of their preseason matchup at SoFi Stadium on Saturday, Aug. 19.

The Raiders and Rams are in similar positions as both are coming off disappointing seasons and parted ways with some big names. The Raiders of course released quarterback Derek Carr while also trading away tight end Darren Waller while the Rams traded cornerback Jalen Ramsey while also letting pass rusher Leonard Floyd go.

The last time these two teams shared the practice field back in 2021, it did not end well. During the special teams’ portion of the second practice, the Raiders and Rams broke out into a massive brawl that caused the session to end early as the Raiders got on their busses and left.

The Raiders are looking turn course after last season’s disappointing outcome. With a new quarterback under center and plenty of other new faces across the board along with their stalwarts in Maxx Crosby, Davante Adams and Josh Jacobs, the pieces are there to do some damage.

Seeing how they stack up against another team in that same position such as the Rams could really inspire the Raiders moving forward.

Davante Adams calls Raiders GM Dave Ziegler ‘The Man’ on social media

Raiders star wide receiver Davante Adams is very open and honest about his feelings on everything, and he turned some heads when he said in a recent interview that he doesn’t see eye-to-eye on everything the front office has done this offseason. At 30 years of age, Adams has no time for a rebuild and wants to be sure the Raiders are trying to win right now.

This comment led some to wonder if there was some discontent, but Adams quickly shot that down. The Raiders star took to social media to post a picture of himself with GM Dave Ziegler, calling him ‘The Man.’ Adams is fully committed to the Raiders franchise and winning at all costs.
