The Las Vegas Raiders haven’t been as active as expected, with NFL free agency getting underway this week. However, the storied franchise did land a wide receiver on Wednesday, with John Brown agreeing to terms with the Raiders.

According to NFL insider Adam Caplan, Brown has agreed to a one-year deal with Las Vegas.

The Raiders bringing in Brown is one of two free-agent signings they’ve been thus far. The other was without a doubt the biggest move with the team landing pass-rusher Yannick Ngakoue earlier this week.

The team’s main goal this NFL offseason has been to improve the defense, and it did just that with Ngakoue headed to Las Vegas.

Although defense remains a priority for Jon Gruden and company, the Raiders signing Brown is a step in the right direction as it will give quarterback Derek Carr another speedy downfield threat along with Henry Ruggs III.

The Raiders will be the fourth team Brown has suited up for during his NFL career. He started his professional career with the Arizona Cardinals and has since played for the Baltimore Ravens and Buffalo Bills.

Last season, Brown caught 33 passes for 458 yards and three touchdowns in nine games for the Bills. He was part of a dynamic offense that led to an AFC Championship Game appearance.

Las Vegas is almost certainly not done adding to the receiving corps, with the team expected to take a run at some of the big-name wideouts available. A.J. Green is now off the table after agreeing to terms with the Cardinals, but JuJu Smith-Schuster is still available, along with Kenny Golladay, T.Y. Hilton and Will Fuller V.
