Raiders News: Derek Carr Hilariously Claps Back At Former Teammate Antonio Brown

Originally published by RaidersNewswire.com

The Las Vegas Raiders were finally able to smile after a close game. Derek Carr threw for 307 yards and two touchdowns, the last being a 35-yard connection with Davante Adams to give the Raiders a 22-16 overtime victory over their division rival Denver Broncos.

The connection between Carr and Adams has been apparent all season long, and the receiver finished with seven catches for 141 yards and two touchdowns in the Raiders win. Carr has been on the same page with his star receiver, but it was a prior teammate who was the focus of Carr on social media.

Antonio Brown, who signed with the Raiders in 2019, but was released before ever playing a game, took a shot at Carr on Twitter by calling him Derek Carb along while posting an altered picture. But after the Raiders win, Carr offered a nice response to his former teammate on Twitter:

We eating good tonight ! https://t.co/1baFOYKwQC

Brown would respond to Carr directly, thanking him for his play. Brown would then follow with another tweet, saying he was just being funny while also praising Carr for his work ethic:

I told you Derek Carb 10k

I’m being funny with image

Most hard working passionate Q

I’m going Sizzla

Brown’s brief time with the Raiders was a time Carr and most Raiders fans would like to forget. He missed the start of training camp due to frostbite on his feet as he failed to wear proper footwear during a cryotherapy session. He also got in an altercation with then-Raiders GM Mike Mayock, for which he was fined $215,000, and also had issues finding a new helmet after his previous preferred one had been banned by the NFL.

While it may just seem like a little social media fun, it is this attitude from Carr that shows why he is the leader of the Raiders. Many would simply ignore the post, especially coming from someone like Brown, who is known to be out of line on social media.

But responses like this from Carr are sure to rally the rest of the team to have that pride and go at anyone who challenges the Raiders.
