Raiders Listed As Betting Favorite To Land Tom Brady This Offseason

The biggest question surrounding the Las Vegas Raiders coming into this offseason is who will be the quarterback of the team next year. There are a number of different options, but the biggest one gaining the most traction is the current Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback and the greatest to ever play the position, Tom Brady.

Of course, Brady and the Raiders have been linked for some time now, and the pairing does make sense on both sides. And now, with Brady and the Bucs being eliminated from the playoffs by the Dallas Cowboys on Monday night, all eyes will now move toward what’s next for Brady.

The 45-year-old will be a free agent this offseason, free to sign with any team, and rumors have been flying about him potentially joining the Raiders or Dolphins. According to Josh Dubow of the Associated Press, the Raiders are the favorite to land Brady:

Per @betonline_ag odds on Tom Brady’s next team if not Bucs:#Raiders 3-1
Jets 7-2
Patriots 5-1
Dolphins 6-1#49ers 7-1

There undoubtedly seems to be mutual interest between Brady and the Raiders, and with good reason. For Brady, the Raiders have all of the offensive weapons a quarterback could ask for. Not only do the Raiders have a dominant No. 1 receiver in Davante Adams, but the two positions Brady has always favored have been that reliable slot receiver and the athletic tight end, and the Raiders have both in Hunter Renfrow and Darren Waller, respectively.

The Raiders also have the league’s leading rusher in Josh Jacobs, but he is also a free agent this offseason though he has expressed interest in remaining in Las Vegas. And, of course, there is also Brady’s familiarity with head coach Josh McDaniels and his offensive system from their many years together in New England.

Bringing in Brady would also give the Raiders, one of the most popular franchises in the NFL, a true superstar face of the franchise, which they have undoubtedly wanted since making the move to Las Vegas. Brady to the Raiders would almost certainly help the bottom line of the franchise with ticket and merchandise sales in addition to what it would mean on the field.

But just because they are the favorite does not mean it is a lock that the Raiders will land Brady, and there are some other intriguing options. A return to the Patriots and reuniting with Bill Belichick would be a massive move, while joining the 49ers would bring him closer to home as he was born in the Bay Area. But the Raiders are hoping they have enough to get Brady in silver and black.
