Following an impressive win over the San Diego Chargers in Week 5, the Oakland Raiders moved up four spots in ESPN’s NFL Power Rankings on Tuesday moving ahead of quite a few teams:

No. 28 – Minnesota Vikings (1-3)

No. 27 – Washington Redskins (1-3)

No. 26 – Carolina Panthers (1-3)

No. 25 – St. Louis Rams (2-3)

NO. 24 – Oakland Raiders (2-3)

Along with recording the second win of the season over their bitter division rivals, the Raiders seem to finally be turning the corner and turning a lot of heads around the league in the process.

The more time Terrelle Pryor gets under center in Oakland, the more he continues to impress the Raiders coaching staff as well as the majority of NFL analysts. Pryor came out firing on all cylinders against the Chargers on Sunday night going 10-for-10 right out of the gate while also connecting with Rod Streater on a 44-yard pass for a touchdown.

Regardless of all the doubt surrounding this team’s immediate future, the Raiders are making moves in the first half of the season and may make some waves in Week 6 if able to had the Kansas City Chiefs their first loss of the season.

Rankings for the rest of the AFC West via ESPN:

No.1 – Denver Broncos (5-0)

No.3 – Kansas City Chiefs (5-0)

No.20 – San Diego Chargers (2-3)

The Broncos continue to dominate the competition on a weekly basis while the Chiefs have emerged as the surprise team on the season in the AFC. A case could be made for the Raiders being the most surprising team in division, if not the conference, but Kansas City has more than doubled their win total (2) from last season makes their improvement under new head coach Andy Reid impressive to say the least.

As for the Chargers, the loss to the Raiders will prove to be costly for a team that was thought to have finally hit their stride. Quarterback Philip Rivers appeared to turn it around after an awful season last year, but threw three interceptions against the Raiders and may be back to square one.
