NHL Injury Updates: Sabres, Avs, Blue Jackets, Kings, Canadiens, Islanders, Flyers, Blues, and Canucks
NHL Injury Updates

Paul Hamilton: Buffalo Sabres coach Ralph Krueger said that defenseman Rasmus Dahlin has been cleared for contact. If he’s able to play tonight will depend on how he feels after yesterday’s practice.

Mike Chambers: Colorado Avalanche defenseman Cale Makar wasn’t able to return last night and is doubtful for Friday against the Devils.

Forward Nazem Kadri returned to the lineup.

  • Ryan S. Clark: Makar was on the ice in a no-contact jersey for their optional skate yesterday.

Aaron Portzline: Columbus Blue Jackets defenseman Markus Nutivaara was about to return but now “a non-injury issue” will keep him out the lineup a bit longer. No details were provided.

Columbus Blue Jackets: Forward Emil Bemstrom will be out for six to eight weeks with a dislocated rib and broken cartilage. He suffered the injury on Saturday against the Panthers.

John Hoven: Los Angeles Kings defenseman Alec Martinez was on the ice yesterday.

Montreal Canadiens: The Canadiens have put forward Jesperi Kotkaniemi on the IR and recalled forward Ryan Poehling and defenseman Christian Folin.

Andrew Gross: New York Islanders defenseman Nick Leddy was on the ice for practice yesterday.

Dave Isaac: Philadelphia Flyers forward Oskar Lindblom missed last night game with an upper-body injury.

Lou Korac: St. Louis Blues coach Craig Berube on the return on getting some injured players back during their homestand.

“Yeah, we’ll get them back. We’ll get a couple guys back for sure.”

Berube added that tonight is a possibility but still up in the air.

Blake Price: Vancouver Canucks GM Jim Benning confirms “it’s not a concussion” for forward Micheal Ferland.

  • Blake Price: Have been hearing that Benning’s comments could just be semantics. Ferland could be dealing with “post-concussion” issues and wouldn’t technically have him “concussed” or in concussion protocol.

Jeff Paterson: Canucks forward Brandon Sutter had hoped to be ready to play on Tuesday against the Maple Leafs. During their morning skate on Tuesday, he experienced some tightness so he wasn’t activated from the IR. He is hopeful that he’ll be ready to return tonight against the Hurricanes.
