Pacioretty activated, Pirri re-assigned

David Schoen: Vegas Golden Knights forward Max Pacioretty has been activated from the IR and they have re-assigned Brandon Pirri to the AHL.

David Schoen: Re-assigning Pirri saves NHL time for the Golden Knights. If/when Pirri plays 10 games or spends 30 days on an NHL roster he would require waivers to be sent to the AHL. Sending him down yesterday saves three days.

Karlsson suspended

NHL.com: The NHL has suspended San Jose Sharks Erik Karlsson for two games for an illegal check to the head of Los Angeles Kings Auston Wagner.

Kevin Kurz: Sharks coach Pete DeBoer on Karlsson hit:  “Looked really clean. Kid coming across the middle, his head down a little bit. I thought (Karlsson) made contact with the shoulder, didn’t leave his feet. Kid took a couple runs at him. Sometimes that’s what happens when you do that.”
