NFL Free Agency Rumors: Raiders Working Out Offensive Lineman Richie Incognito

Perhaps no team in football has improved more on both sides of the ball than the Oakland Raiders this offseason, bringing in the likes of Antonio Brown, Trent Brown, Tyrell Williams, Lamarcus Joyner, Vontaze Burfict and Brandon Marshall, among others, in addition to drafting nine players, three of which were in the first round.

There is still plenty of time until the beginning of the season to improve though, and it appears that general manager Mike Mayock a d head coach Jon Gruden are not finished making additions to the team.

According to Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network, the Raiders are bringing in free agent offensive lineman Richie Incognito for a workout:

Here’s an interesting one. The #Raiders are working out free agent G Richie Incognito today, sources say. Incognito didn’t play last season after he retired, un-retired and then was cut by the #Bills. But word is he’s in shape and feeling well in all aspects. Wants to play again.

As Garafolo mention, Incognito sat out the 2018 season after being cut by the Buffalo Bills. The former third-round draft pick of the St. Louis Rams in 2005 out of Nebraska has played 11 NFL seasons though, being named a Pro Bowler in four of them. THat includes the last three seasons that he played with the Bills from 2015-17.

Most people are familiar with Incognito’s past history in the league as he was suspended for an entire season after a bullying incident with former Miami Dolphins teammates Jonathan Martin.

Incognito has worked to repair his image since then, and the Raiders are currently without a starting left guard so he would likely compete for that position if they decide to sign him.
