The inaugural season of the MLB on TBS Tuesday Night franchise continues this week when the Los Angeles Dodgers visit the St. Louis Cardinals in the opener of a three-game series at Busch Stadium. It marks the start of a five-game road trip before the All-Star break.

Play-by-play man Brian Anderson, analyst Jeff Francouer and reporter Allie LaForce will be on the call with game commentary. First pitch is set for 4:45 p.m. PT, however, coverage on TBS starts 15 minutes earlier.

Additionally, there is also a pregame “MLB on TBS Leadoff” show with Pedro Martinez, Jimmy Rollins, Curtis Granderson and Lauren Shehadi that will start at 4 p.m, and the same group will be on following the game for their postgame show, “MLB on TBS Closer.”

The TBS telecast will be available locally in the St. Louis market, but not in L.A. as SportsNet LA is broadcasting the game.

The 2022 season is the start of a seven-year rights agreement between Turner Sports and MLB, extending a partnership that dates back more than 50 years. In addition to the season-long Tuesday night game of the week, the new franchise includes 30-minute pregame and postgame studio shows each week

The MLB on TBS Tuesday Night franchise debuted on April 12 with a National League West matchup between the San Diego Padres and San Francisco Giants at Oracle Park. The Dodgers made their first appearance on April 19 when they hosted the Atlanta Braves in a rematch of the 2021 NL Championship Series.

Dodgers showing interest in Luis Castillo

As the MLB trade deadline approaches on Tuesday, Aug. 2, speculation has steadily increased that the Cincinnati Reds will move Luis Castillo and the Oakland Athletics would look to part with Frankie Montas.

Both teams are well outside of the postseason picture and heading toward respective losing seasons.

The Dodgers’ rotation has managed to forge ahead despite Clayton Kershaw missing time earlier this season, and Walker Buehler and Andrew Heaney both currently on the 15-day injured list. Nevertheless, the Dodgers are among the teams that have discussed a Castillo trade with the Reds.
