Recently, Spectrum SportsNet and Apple came together to announce that they would be bringing select Los Angeles Lakers games to Apple Immersive. Through the Spectrum Front Row app, fans will be able to experience select Lakers games on their Apple Vision Pro.
And now the schedule for those games have been released with the first of six games coming this Friday, Jan. 9, when the Lakers host the Milwaukee Bucks. Following that, the next contest available will be Feb. 5 when the Lakers host the Philadelphia 76ers.
The other games in which this experience will be available are Feb. 20 against the Los Angeles Clippers, March 5 against the Denver Nuggets, the only Lakers road game to be featured, March 10 against the Minnesota Timberwolves and March 30 against the Washington Wizards.
Spectrum Front Row in Apple Immersive is directed and produced for Apple Vision Pro with a feed of up to 150mbps. For the Lakers game in Apple Immersive, the URSA Cine Immersive Live cameras produce 8K, 3D video with a 180-degree view.
It will also feature seven unique viewing angles including the scorer’s table, the area beneath each basket, and the broadcast booth which will allow fans to experience these contests in any way they prefer. Three-time NBA Champion and former Lakers wing Danny Green will serve as the analyst for these contests with Mark Rogondino doing play-by-play.
Spectrum Front Row in Apple Immersive also captures the spatial audio throughout the arena, further immersing fans in the experience and making you feel like you are courtside at Crypto.com Arena. And the stream remains inside the arena during all timeouts and breaks so fans can enjoy all of the in-arena entertainment and even peak over at team huddles.
Lakers Nation was fortunate enough to receive an invitation to preview the Lakers experience in Apple Immersive, which has been in development for over a year and you can check out those details HERE.
Lakers only willing to sacrifice financial flexibility for ‘needle-mover’
Ideally, the experience for these fans enjoying the Lakers in Apple Immersive is one that comes in Lakers victories. The team has been good, but most wouldn’t consider them true championship contenders and help is needed on the defensive end, particularly the perimeter.
The Lakers are known to be scouring the trade market for 3-and-D wings who will upgrade the roster, but the front office is reportedly hesitant on sacrificing their future financial flexibility to do so, unless it is for a real game-changer.
