Josh Jacobs Thinks Raiders ‘Coast A Little Too Much’ On Offense

The Las Vegas Raiders looked like they might have salvaged their season after snapping their previous three-game losing streak with a gutsy overtime win against the Dallas Cowboys. Still, they found themselves struggling yet again in a close loss to the Washington Football Team.

The Raider defense has done its job keeping the team within striking distance of games, but it has been the offense that has become an issue over the past month. Las Vegas has dealt with massive changes after losing play-caller Jon Gruden and Henry Ruggs, and they were dealt a blow after Darren Waller was ruled for the Week 13 tilt against the Football Team.

Josh Jacobs managed to score the team’s only touchdown in the loss, but the offense up to that point had only managed to muster up six points. Jacobs was clearly frustrated with the team’s performance and called them out via Josh Dubow of AP:

Josh Jacobs on #Raiders lack of execution on offense: “I think it’s a mindset. I think we kind of just coast a little too much. It’s definitely frustrating.”

It is strong criticism coming from Jacobs, though it is warranted given how inconsistent the Raiders have become. The injuries and off-the-field events have certainly played a role in their disappointing showings as of late, but the roster has enough talent and experience on it to play through them.

Although the Silver and Black are still in contention for a Wild Card spot, time is starting to run out for them to make up ground in the standings and make a real playoff push. Unfortunately, things do not get any easier in Week 14 as they face off against a red-hot Kansas City Chiefs team that has won five consecutive games and recently blew out the Raiders just a few weeks ago.
