Former Los Angeles Dodgers teammates Joc Pederson and Justin Turner participated in the “SuperHole” series, an annual pro-am series of competitive cornhole events that was aired live on ESPN2.

American Cornhole League (ACL) pros paired with professional athletes Friday night for the SuperHole IV tournament held at the OTTO Car Club & Storage in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Turner was paired with five-time Senior Singles World Champion Daymon Dennis. “Me and my wife Kourtney love to play cornhole,” Turner said before the event.

“We even had it at our wedding — it’s actually one of our favorite pastimes. Hopefully I can go out there and make her proud!”

Turner and Dennis drew a first-round matchup against Pederson and current Senior Singles World Champion Jimmy McGuffin.

“When I heard Justin was playing I couldn’t resist the opportunity to go out and compete against him,” Pederson said. “Sure, we’re friends but once the bags and boards are out all that goes out the window!”

Turner proved to be a quality cornhole player as he and Dennis breezed past Pederson and McGuffin, then defeated Tyler Lockett and current Women Singles World Champion Cheyenne Bubenheim to win the SuperHole IV championship.

That automatically qualified the duo for a spot in the ACL World Championships this August. That of course is in the middle of the 2023 regular season, which could prove challenging for Turner and the Boston Red Sox.

Justin Turner, Joc Pederson played in California Strong event

During their time as Dodgers teammates, Pederson and Turner previously competed together in the California Strong Celebrity Softball Game in 2019.

The event was organized to help raise money for those who were impacted by wildfires in California, as well as the mass shooting in Thousand Oaks.
