The English Premier League is returning to action on June 17 after being initially halted by the Covid-19 pandemic. It is excellent news for EPL fans, and there are some appetizing clashes in the Pipeline!

Liverpool is expected to wrap up the title in the coming weeks, but the race for the UEFA Champions League spot, the Europa League, and the fight to escape relegation is still on. Let us look at some of the hottest premier league matches remaining this season.

Tottenham Vs. Manchester United

Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspurs will take on his former side Manchester United on June 19 in what is promising to be a thrilling match. The eight placed Tottenham are just four points adrift Manchester United and they will be looking to close the gap. Spurs will welcome back key players like Harry Kane & Son as they look to turn the corner after below-par performances before the forced break. Meanwhile, the Red Devils who currently sit fifth will know just how costly a slip would be in their quest for the coveted Champions League football. Just like Tottenham, they too have a full squad to pick from in arguably their remaining Biggest Premier League Fixture. The return of Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford will be a welcome boost to help inject more firepower to what the magnificent Bruno Fernandes has done in their absence.

Everton Vs. Liverpool

This Merseyside derby will see Liverpool visit Everton on Sunday 21st June aiming to narrow down the required points to mathematically scoop the Premier League trophy. Liverpool has been phenomenal all season and the EPL restart will no doubt be the best new on the red half of Merseyside. This will be Liverpool’s first title in 30 years. Well, can the Toffees pull an upset against a peerless Liverpool side? It’s certainly a game worth watching.

West Ham Vs Watford

When the premier league season enters its final weeks, several clubs battling relegation often put all their guns blazing.  At the moment, both Watford and West Ham are just above the relegation zone and are tied in points.  Bournemouth is below them just on goal difference and it is easy to see how tough the encounter between West Ham and Watford will be at the London Stadium on July 15th. Each team will be looking to grab all the three golden points to help survive a costly relegation. Relegation will be even worse for the Hammers who invested a lot to battle for European places, only to be sucked into the wrong side of the table.

Wolves Vs. Arsenal

These two teams are really battling out for the Europa League spot next season since their chances of securing a place in the Champions League look a bit stretched. At the moment, Arsenal is trailing Wolves by three points but they have a game in hand against a formidable Manchester City side. The gunners have done admirably well since Mikel Arteta took over from Unai Emery. They will be up against a Wolves side that has been upsetting the big guns in the league.

Leicester Vs. Sheffield United

The clash between these two clubs at King Power Stadium will be a possible battle for European places. Leicester will hardly let the chance to play in the champions league slip as they are now eight points clear of Manchester united. Sheffield has been very mean to home teams on their travels, and this will be one match to watch

Chelsea Vs. Manchester City

Frank Lampard’s Chelsea will welcome Manchester City on 25th June, hoping to cement their spot in the next season’s UEFA champion’s league. At the moment, Chelsea sits fourth with just three points ahead of Manchester United. The cancellation of UEFA Champions League games will likely lessen the burden on the two teams who are now fighting to secure the top four.

Manchester City Vs. Arsenal

This game was initially postponed because the initial schedule clashed with the Carabao Cup finals in which Man city was the finalist. The game will now take place on the night of Wednesday 17th June and it promises to be a game to watch. Arsenal will be hoping to walk away with three points to keep their European qualifications alive. Arsenal has pulled a series of poor performances against the Citizens for the past few seasons, but this time they have Pep’s former right-hand man on their side.

Tottenham Vs. Arsenal

In their push for the Champions League spot, Arsenal will have to overcome some big names, including Tottenham Hotspur. The North London derby is bound to be fascinating with spurs also looking to book the UEFA Champions League spot next season.  This game is scheduled for July 11th and will no doubt be a battle worth watching.

Leicester Vs. Manchester United

At the moment, Chelsea has edged United with just three points. Manchester United will be hoping to have pipped Chelsea when they visit Leicester City in their last premier league game for this season. However, Leicester is still within reach from other clubs, especially Chelsea and Manchester United. Although much will depend on the points accrued from the games before this encounter, a lot of points to this match being tougher and worth watching.

We are glad the EPL is back, and we are hoping that it will at least run smoothly as the world continues to fight the COVID-19 pandemic. Get yourself ready for some thrilling games as we wind up the 2019/2020 season!
