The sports world came to a screeching halt with the global outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19) and fans are still getting accustomed to daily life under self-quarantine.
With no new material to work with, leagues like the NBA and NFL have obliged by offering up free video packages to allow fans to re-live some of the most memorable games in history. There is no question that their efforts have helped many pass the time until it is safe to resume play.
There is certainly no shortage of material to work with. As a result, it seems ESPN and the NFL has decided to take it a step further.
According to ESPN’s Bill Hofheimer, the network will air the Los Angeles Rams’ victory over the Kansas City Chiefs from 2018 in what was the highest-scoring Monday night game ever:

It is safe to say that this is quite the treat for football fans, especially those in Los Angeles. After all, it was the Rams that were able to emerge victorious in the 54-51 win following one of the most prolific scoring performances in history.
The game was initially scheduled to be played in Mexico City until field conditions allowed the Rams to host the first Monday night game in Los Angeles since 1985. The showdown between these two high-powered offenses managed to fit the billing after the back-and-forth battle saw the Chiefs become the first team in NFL history to score 50 or more points and lose.
The Rams had been at the height of their offensive powers during the 2018 NFL season with head coach Sean McVay still taking the league by storm in his second year. Meanwhile, the Chiefs were making a statement of their own thanks to the emergence of quarterback Patrick Mahomes and it would ultimately provide a glimpse of what was to come for this team.
Although running back Todd Gurley was still the focal point of the offense at the time, McVay would rely on quarterback Jared Goff to take advantage of the Chiefs’ porous secondary. Goff completed 31-of-49 passes for 413 yards and four touchdowns to put the finishing touches on perhaps the best performance of his career.
Mahomes was able to counter with a spectacular outing of his own after completing 33-of-46 for 478 and six touchdowns. Unfortunately, his three interceptions would prove to be the deciding factor in the historic win for Los Angeles.
