Andrew Gross: New York Islanders GM Lou Lamoriello said that forward Andrew Ladd will play for Bridgeport (AHL) tonight and then will rejoin the Islanders.

Andrew Gross of Newsday: Islanders forward Leo Komarov has been dealing with a neck issue to go along with an illness that has kept him out for the past seven games.

“He had gotten hit,” Islanders president and general manager Lou Lamoriello said on Tuesday. “He had a neck situation. But we had the flu at that time going on. It was a combination of things. We kept him off just to make sure of everything. Right now, he’s feeling as good as he can feel.”

Komarov should be rejoining the team within the week according to Lamoriello.

Forward Matt Martin (lower-body) started skating yesterday. He’s out for another week to 10 days.

Matt Vensel: Pittsburgh Penguins forward Evgeni Malkin was given a maintenance day yesterday.

Defenseman Kris Letang was still being evaluated.
