The Los Angeles Dodgers coaching staff has remained unchanged for multiple years despite Clayton McCullough continuing to be a popular candidate when managerial positions opened.
Just last month, McCullough was named among the candidates under consideration to become the new manager of the Chicago White Sox. However he was eliminated as a candidate late last month.
The White Sox decided to hire Will Venable, who played for the Dodgers in 2016.
According to ESPN’s Jeff Passan, McCullough is being considered by the Miami Marlins for their manager position:

Miami is in search of a new manager after Skip Schumaker held the position for the last two years. He missed the final two games of the season to return home due to a family matter, and it was announced shortly after that Schumaker would not return.
Some began to mention Schumaker as a popular candidate to potentially replace Dodgers manager Dave Roberts in the event the team suffered another early postseason exit and the front office sought to make change.
Dodgers president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman never gave any such indication to considering as much, and it wound up becoming a moot point with the team’s World Series win.
Clayton McCullough’s coaching career
During his time in the Dodgers organization, McCullough has continued to receive interest from other clubs for a manager position.
Over recent years he’s interviewed with or been connected to the New York Mets, Milwaukee Brewers, Cleveland Guardians and Kansas City Royals during their respective searches.
McCullough managed for seven seasons in the Toronto Blue Jays farm system prior to joining the Dodgers in 2015 as their Minor League field coordinator.
McCullough has been the Dodgers’ first base coach since the 2021 season.
Los Angeles originally hired McCullough as their minor league field coordinator, and he’s been Dave Roberts’ first base coach since the 2021 season.
