Dodgers’ Player Pool Analysis: 40-Man Roster Players, Prospects & More

The Los Angeles Dodgers are set to hold their first team workout of Spring Training 2.0 on Friday, and with it comes anticipation for what is expected to be one of the most unique seasons in Major League Baseball history.

Tasked with a shortened 60-game regular season schedule, there will hardly be any room for error if the club hopes to return to the playoffs for an eighth consecutive year.

More importantly, the Dodgers have their sights on ending a 32-year World Series drought. The club is coming off a franchise-best 106 wins last season, but it was a year in which they suffered an early postseason exit at the hands of the eventual champion Washington Nationals.

Many would agree, however, that the Dodgers stand the best chance at dethroning them this season. The club reloaded over the offseason, adding 2018 American League MVP Mookie Betts and five-time All-Star David Price to an already impressive roster.

They are part of the Dodgers’ player pool that includes 52 players — a group of holdovers from recent years, intriguing prospects and non 40-man roster players. Former All-Star relief pitcher AJ Ramos reportedly was signed and added to the pool on Thursday.

The Dodgers still have the ability to add eight more players to the pool prior to Opening Day. Until those decisions are made, the club can expect to see these players report to Dodger Stadium this week, categorized by their standing in the organization:
