Coming off a World Series title with the Los Angeles Dodgers, Teoscar Hernández also captured a 2024 Silver Slugger Award among National League outfielders.

The Silver Slugger is Hernández’s third of his career and first since the 2021 season with the Toronto Blue Jays. He received a $1 million bonus for winning the award.

Among other finalists in the NL, Hernández boasted the most complete offensive résumé of any qualified candidate.

The 32-year-old appeared in 154 games for the Dodgers, batting .272/.339/.501 with 32 doubles, two triples, 33 home runs, 99 RBI and 12 stolen bases. He led NL outfielders in home runs, slugging percentage, RBI and a 14.9% barrel rate.

Hernández posted a 4.3 bWAR, the highest mark of his career, and a 137 OPS+, his best mark over a full 162-game regular season.

Silver Slugger winners were determined by a vote from managers and coaches who base their selections on a variety of offensive statistics including OPS, OPS+, home runs, hits, runs, RBI, batting average and overall offensive value.

Hernández’s bat continued to thrive on the Dodgers’ postseason run. In 16 playoff games, he had three homers, 12 RBI, 10 walks and a .931 on-base plus slugging percentage in the World Series.

Will the Dodgers re-sign Teoscar Hernández?

After a successful season with the Dodgers on a one-year deal, Hernández now is one of the more prominent free agents heading into 2025.

Juan Soto is the top outfielder available, but Hernández already is drawing plenty of interest from multiple teams. That includes the Dodgers, who Hernández has made it known he would like to remain with on a multi-year contract.
