Los Angeles Dodgers teammates Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman are among those scheduled to participate in the third annual “Champions Unite,” a talent show organized by the American Lung Association. The event will air Thursday, September 21, at 8 p.m. PT on Spectrum SportsNet.

Los Angeles Angels radio broadcaster Mark Langston, San Diego Padres associate manager Ryan Christenson, Los Angeles Lakers assistant coach Phil Handy, Lakers shooting guard Austin Reaves, Los Angeles Chargers head coach Brandon Staley, Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert, Los Angeles Rams defensive lineman Kobie Turner and Los Angeles Sparks point guard Jordin Canada are also among the participants.

Former Dodgers first baseman Eric Karros, former Lakers forward Robert Horry, Spectrum SportsNet host Chris McGee and Spectrum SportsNet commentator Allie Clifton are serving as the hosts and celebrity ambassadors.

“Champions Unite” is being held to promote lung health and prevent lung disease through research, education, and advocacy. The American Lung Association’s work focuses on defeating lung cancer, championing clean air for all, improving the quality of life for those with lung disease and their families, and creating a tobacco-free future.

In addition to the talent show, chairwoman of the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians and the Tribal Alliance of Sovereign Indian Nations, Lynn Valbuena, will be honored for her tireless work to improve the health and lives of California’s significant Native American population.

Throughout the show, fans will be able to text a keyword to 43506 to vote for their favorite player. Fans can vote for more than one athlete, and the player who receives the most votes will be crowned champion at the end of the broadcast.

To support the American Lung Association lifesaving mission, donations can be made here. Checks should be made out to the American Lung Association and sent to 2020 Camino Del Rio North, Suite 200, San Diego, CA 92108.

All individuals who donate at least $500 will receive recognition during the show.
