According to STATS, the 33-year-old has now added his name to the MLB history books by becoming the first player to record at least 20 home runs, 35 doubles, 125 hits, 10 stolen bases and 40 walks before the month of August.

Freeman entered play Sunday hitting .369/.453/.785 with seven doubles, one triple, six home runs and 17 RBI in 75 plate appearances over 16 games during the month of July. He also carried an MLB-best 22-game on-base streak.

Freeman is batting an overall .328/.409/.584 with an MLB-leading 35 doubles to go along with two triples, 20 home runs, 70 RBI and 12 stolen bases in 447 plate appearances this season (97 games).

Freeman was named the National League Player of the Month for May after posting a 1.184 on-base plus slugging in 28 games, and appears likely to do so for July as well.

He is coming off a seventh career All-Star Game selection and become the first Dodgers first baseman to start in the Midsummer Classic via fan voting since Steve Garvey did so from 1974-1980.

Freddie Freeman explains new Dodgers dance celebration

Dodgers celebrations over the past several seasons have included making a Mickey Mouse ears gesture, bubble machine in the dugout and clubhouse, invoking a scene from “The Wolf of Wall Street,” pepper grinder motion, water splashed on faces, and now dancing on the bases.

Freeman revealed the dancing stemmed from a viral clip of him during the Usher concert at the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation Blue Diamond Gala.
