Among the group of Los Angeles Dodgers free agents is Kiké Hernández, who is in a second stint with the team and looking to build on the success of winning the 2024 World Series.

Hernández had his struggles throughout the year but once again delivered when the lights were brightest in October. He played in 14 of the Dodgers’ 16 postseason games, hitting .294/.357/.451 with two home runs, six RBI and 11 runs scored in the process.

After helping bring home a second World Series championship in the past four years and serving Dodgers fans in attendance at a local Raising Cane’s, Hernández took advantage of being in their good graces to ask for help in getting re-signed.

“I really, really hope that I’m back next year so we can run it back. So make sure you guys talk to Friedman and those guys, and let them know,” Hernández told the crowd.

As a group, the 2024 Dodgers showed a tremendous amount of heart throughout October and continued to demonstrate why manager Dave Roberts believed in this team more than any other he has guided.

“It took every single one of us in that locker room to do what we accomplished. That doesn’t happen without the unit. That is the one thing that stands out the most about our October run, is how close we were,” Hernández said.

“It brings memories back to 2020. That’s why we did it in 2020 as well, but in 2020 we were all locked in a hotel for a month. This year, to be that together throughout a whole month when everybody gets to go back home after a game, you can only hope to be able to bring the whole group back and run it back next year.

“I know there’s going will be many moving pieces, but a guy can only hope.”

Along with Hernández, the full list of Dodgers free agents includes Walker Buehler, Jack Flaherty, Teoscar Hernández, Joe Kelly, Clayton Kershaw and Blake Treinen.

Daniel Hudson and Kevin Kiermaier technically were part of that group as well but both retired after the Dodgers won the World Series.
