Back in August the Los Angeles Dodgers announced Dodger Stadium was set to be utilized as a voting center for the 2020 President general election. The arrangement was carried out by a partnership between David Price, the Dodgers, and L.A. Laker superstar LeBron James and his
More Than A Vote organization.
“Winning takes collaboration, and that’s exactly what we’re seeing between Los Angeles County and professional sports here in LA,” Price said in a statement at the time. “We may not be able to play in front of our fans this year, but we can do our part to provide a core civic function and make sure that Angelenos can safely vote this fall.
“By becoming the first Major League Baseball team to convert our stadium into a vote center, the Dodgers are handing a blueprint to teams across MLB that can be used to make a very real difference in the lives of their fans.”
Dodger Stadium officially opened its doors as a polling location on Oct. 30 and will remain an option through the evening of Election Day on Tuesday, Nov. 3. The site is open to all registered voters in L.A. County and is also a drop off location for mail-in ballots.
Voters as asked to access Dodger Stadium via Sunset Gate A off Vin Scully Ave. and Stadium Way. Free parking is available in Lot P, which is just off the Top Deck where polling is being completed.
To comply with L.A. County and CDC guidelines, the Dodgers installed temporary voting booths on the Top Deck that are spaced apart. Foot traffic moves through separate entrances and exits, voters are provided with hand sanitizer and face coverings are required at all times.
