Byron Young Sends Best Wishes To Jaxson Dart After Knee Injury

The Los Angeles Rams bounced back with a dominant win over the New York Giants in Week 2, but overshadowing the game itself was New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart suffering a significant left knee injury.

Dart went down on the Giants’ first offensive drive when outside linebackers Byron Young and Josaiah Stewart awkwardly collided with him. Dart attempted to return but was eventually ruled out.

The play was a freak accident that will unfortunately keep one of the brightest young quarterbacks out for quite some time. Young sent his best wishes to Dart on social media and hopes he has a speedy recovery, via Nate Atkins of The Athletic:

The Giants were initially optimistic that Dart had only suffered a sprained MCL, but further testing revealed damage to his PCL and meniscus that will require season-ending surgery. He is expected to make a full recovery and hopefully will be able to get his career back on track next year.

Young was entirely blameless on the play as he could not have expected his hit to lead to such a severe injury. His classy handling of the situation reinforces why he is one of the most respected players in the Rams organization.

The 28-year-old turned in a solid performance against the Giants as he recorded five total tackles, one sack, one tackle for loss and three quarterback hits.

Sean McVay makes fun of himself for Rams’ Australia travel plans

After the Rams’ disappointing loss to the San Francisco 49ers in Week 1, many were quick to blame their travel plans to Australia as they didn’t arrive until one day before the game.

Head coach Sean McVay refused to use the travel schedule as an excuse in the days after the loss, but finally admitted it was a mistake after the Rams’ win on Monday Night Football.

The travel plans weren’t the only reason the Rams fell to the 49ers in Week 1, but they certainly played a role. McVay taking responsibility while mixing in some humor shows why so many players enjoy being coached by him as he is never one to shift blame elsewhere.

The Rams will now look to keep their winning ways going and get over .500 when they travel to Empower Field at Mile High for a Week 3 matchup against the Denver Broncos on Sunday Night Football.
