The speculation and rumors about Josh Jacobs’ future with the Las Vegas Raiders can officially come to an end, with the star running back finally agreeing to a deal with the storied NFL franchise.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Raiders and Jacobs have agreed to a one-year deal worth up to $12 million.

Over the last few months, Jacobs has been adamant about not signing his franchise tag, which the team placed on him and would’ve paid him a little over $10 million for the 2023 NFL season.
Much like Saquon Barkley of the New York Giants, Jacobs had no intention of signing the tag as he felt that he was worth more than that number after having a career year during the 2022 season. Jacobs earned All-Pro honors for the first time in his career last season and became arguably the best back in the game while also being a major piece to the puzzle for the Raiders.
After agreeing to terms on a new short-term deal with the Raiders, Jacobs took to Twitter to let his fans and the Raiders faithful know he’s back in the fold for at least the 2023 campaign.

Now Jacobs will look to have another solid season with the Raiders in order to secure his long-term future in Las Vegas or elsewhere, as he’ll become a free agent after the upcoming season.
As one of the league’s elite running backs, Jacobs will hope to prove his worth and show that the 2022 season was no fluke.
