Spectrum SportsNet and the Los Angeles Lakers announced the launch of Spectrum SportsNet+ last week, which delivers the team’s games and network’s programming via a direct-to-consumer streaming subscription service.

Spectrum SportsNet+ is available to customers residing inside the Lakers’ local broadcast territory, which is comprised of Southern California, Hawaii and parts of Southern Nevada.

Fans can purchase Spectrum SportsNet+ for $19.99 per month or $179.99 per season. Existing Spectrum, DIRECTV and Cox customers who have access to Spectrum SportsNet programming are still able to watch via the Spectrum SportsNet app at no additional cost, and with authenticated access to streaming service.

“With the start of the NBA regular season, the launch of Spectrum SportsNet+ will allow even more fans to enjoy live Lakers games and in-depth, unique coverage of their favorite team, with or without a pay TV subscription,” senior vice president and general manager of Spectrum sports Dan Finnerty said in a statement.

“By offering a variety of packages, we’re giving fans more choice and flexibility and taking another step towards evolving the Regional Sports Network model in this new era of sports viewing.”

Spectrum SportsNet is the sister network of SportsNet LA, which provides in-depth coverage of the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Lakers and Dodgers both signed record-setting regional sports network contracts more than a decade ago.

Spectrum SportsNet+ can be streamed across a wide range of devices including iPhone, iPad, Roku, Android mobile, Android TV, Amazon Fire, Hisense, PlayStation and Xbox. It can be accessed via the NBA’s app and their official website.

With the streaming option, Lakers fans can now watch games and additional programming on an a la carte basis rather than through a cable subscription bundle.

Are Dodgers games part of Spectrum SportsNet+?

Dodgers games are not included with a current subscription to Spectrum SportsNet+, which only covers the Lakers. However, it stands to reason Spectrum may explore a similar streaming service for Dodgers games by the 2024 season.

SportsNet LA is available to Charter Spectrum, AT&T TV, DirecTV, U-verse TV and AT&T TV NOW subscribers.

SportsNet LA is channel 789 for a high definition feed through Spectrum, and channel 44 for standard. Local DirectTV Stream customers can find SportsNet LA on channel 690. Spectrum customers in San Luis Obispo can find it on channels 773 (HD) and 44 (SD). The network is channel 44 for Porterville customers.

For AT&T U-Verse customers, SportsNet LA is channels 1780 (HD) and 780 (SD).
