After Finishing 7-9, Raiders To Pick 12th And 19th In First Round Of 2020 NFL Draft

The Oakland Raiders’ 2019 season came to a disappointing end on Sunday afternoon as they were defeated by the Denver Broncos, 16-15, to finish the year at 7-9. The Raiders needed a win and some help across the league to make the postseason, although the Tennessee Titans beating the Houston Texans is what officially eliminated them from contention.

The focus now for this Raiders team shifts to the future as they get set to move to Las Vegas and will be taking a lot of young talent with them. In addition to players already in the organization like Josh Jacobs, Maxx Crosby, Darren Waller and others, the Raiders also have five picks in the first three rounds of the 2020 NFL Draft.

Two of those picks will come in the first round with the Raiders holding their own pick and the Chicago Bears’ to complete the Khalil Mack trade. Now that Week 17 is in the rearview, it has been determined that those picks will be Nos. 12 and 19.

Here is the complete 2020 first-round draft order for all of the non-playoff teams, via Field Yates of ESPN:

The Raiders have a variety of team needs that they will need to address in the draft and free agency, so having two first-round picks at their disposal will be big for them.

One question they will need to address is if Derek Carr is their franchise quarterback moving forward. If not, they may want to package some of those picks to move up to take the likes of Tua Tagovailoa, Justin Herbert of whatever other quarterback Jon Gruden and Mike Mayock fall in love with during the draft process.

If Carr is their guy though then wide receiver, defensive line, linebacker and secondary are all positions they could potentially address with those first-round picks.
